Meet Taniya from India who has explored an Alberta education in the program of Digital Media and IT.
Why did you choose your program of study? Why are you passionate about it?
IT is a field that is growing more and more every day. Every industry uses it and it has become such an integral part of modern organizations. I started using computer science when I was in tenth grade and I have loved it ever since. Coding is one the things I just really enjoy!
What has been your experience with your professors and instructors? Have they been easy to approach and helpful in answering your questions?
Initially, I was kind of scared to approach them. Then classes started, and I kept meeting new professors and interacting with them more in class. I realized that they are jolly friendly. They became those people who I would go to if I had any sort of doubt, or any sort of help required. It has just been really great.
Alberta has a lot to offer. Not only in city life, but I feel like it is a place that you can actually go around travelling and exploring new things.
Briefly, what has been your experience in Alberta? What have you enjoyed about living in Alberta?
Surprisingly, the winter. I come from Dubai, where the winter temperature is up to 20 degrees Celsius. Coming here and experiencing the first snow was like the best thing ever - it was so pretty and I just really like it! One of my favorite memories would be the first time I went camping. It was out in the woods and as the night was settling, I loved how the sky just lit up with stars. It was just really beautiful.
Why do you think students should study in Alberta?
It has so many things to offer, which is one of the best reasons why students should study in Alberta.
